MEET
OUR TEAM

Dr. Tiffany, a New Jersey local, received her Animal & Nutritional Sciences/pre-vet Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University- "Let's Go Mountaineers". During her time in Morgantown, she competed in the IHSA in the Western pleasure and reining divisions. Following undergrad Tiffany spent a year as a veterinary assistant with Kunz Equine LLC at the Meadowlands Racetrack, where she gained experience and developed her interest in equine sports and emergency medicine.
 
Tiffany then attended veterinary school at Ross University, on the beautiful island of St. Kitts. She completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University and graduated in January of 2016. Dr. Mahalchick is particularly interested in preventative medicine, dentistry, and emergency medicine. Dr. Tiffany founded Coastal Elite Veterinary Services in 2019 and purchased Colts Head Veterinary Services in 2020. Tiffany is a member of the AVMA, AAEP, FEI, NJAEP/NJVMA, & AASRP.

In her down time, Tiffany will most likely be found down the shore with her husband Michael and two dogs- Brody & Saxa. Some of her hobbies include water skiing, SCUBA diving, playing beach volleyball, or riding her horses like Nala, a welsh pony, who has been her companion since she was 9 years old.

Nicolas I. Busse, MV, MS
 

Dr. Nicolas Busse grew up among sporthorses and dairy cattle in rainy Valdivia, Chile. There he earned his DVM graduating summa cum laude, and further specialized in clinical sciences and equine medicine. In 2018, Nicolas went on to complete a clinical and surgical internship in northern Germany at Tierklinik Lüsche. Awarded an academic scholarship, he then moved to the United States to attend graduate school at Virginia Tech, where he would write his thesis on equine muscle physiology. After obtaining his Master's degree, he decided to heed his call and return to practicing equine medicine by joining the team at Equine Sports Medicine and Surgery, in Texas. 

 

His primary professional interests include endoscopic surgery, sports medicine, and select areas of internal medicine. His research focus includes muscle physiology and equine biomechanics.

 

When he’s not researching some obscure technical topic, you can find him working on his car, practicing Yoga, or spending quality time with his wife, Jess, and their pets; Luci and Luna.

 

To better cater to our customer's needs in this globalized world, Dr. Nicolas Busse is happy to offer Coastal Elite clients its full range of services in English, Spanish, and German.

Dr. Celeste Kunz, a new Jersey native, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. As a teenager Dr. Kunz rode hunt seat equitation and junior jumper and as an undergraduate was inducted into the Jersey City University's Athletic Hall of Fame. She later became their riding coach, leading the urban riders to win IHSA regional championships.

Dr. Kunz was the first woman to hold the position of New York Racing Association Chief Examining Veterinarian overseeing horses at Belmont Park, Aqueduct and Saratoga racetracks. A member of the Breeders Cup and Triple Crown veterinarian teams, Dr. Kunz served on the American Association of Equine Practitioners' Professional Conduct and Ethics Committee.

Recognized world-wide as an authority on racetrack regulatory practice, Dr. Kunz lectures biennially at the International Conference of Racing Analysts and Veterinarians on topics including catastrophic racing injuries, biosecurity, infectious disease, and traumatic neurological assessment.

​

Dr. Kunz is a spokesperson for AAEP's Eclipse Award-winning “On Call” program, providing veterinary information to the media during live coverage of major races throughout the country with the goal of educating the public about the specialized care our equine athletes. 

​

Dr. Kunz is a consultant for the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Safety and Integrity Alliance, certifying racetracks that adhere to a Code of Standards with regard to injury reporting and prevention, safer racing surfaces, medication and testing, jockey health and safety, and aftercare for retired horses.  

​

Founded in 2006, Kunz Equine LLC, provides emergency and diagnostic support during races at the Meadowlands and conducts the lasix administration program at the Meadowlands, Monmouth Park, and Parx.

​

Dr. Celeste, as many of her clients know her, is a collector of asian equine antiquities, French Impressionist paintings and her passion is Sphynx and Bengal cats.

Loree Mahalchick

Practice Financial Director

Loree has over 20 years of horse experience and is a certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and President of HorseSense Therapeutic Center 501c3.  She has managed horse farms, trained at Standardbred race tracks, vet tech at NJ race tracks, has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and minor in Equine Studies and worked in compliance at a major pharmaceutical company. 

 

Loree owns and manages 3 horses of her own, a goat, 4 potbelly pigs, 2 alpacas, 2 barn cats, one quite silly yellow-naped amazon parrot, and a plethora of chickens.  In her spare time, Loree loves to spend time with her family on their family farm riding their horses.

Tara Peary

Office Manager & Client Relations

Tara is a resident of New Jersey and has always enjoyed being around animals and learning about them. She has been living on horse farms with her family since she was a child, has two dogs (Hunter and Troy) and a cat (Mowgli) of her own. She has over eight years of customer service experience and thoroughly enjoys speaking to- and assisting clients in any way needed.

 

She currently helps on her parent's farm taking care of their horses, the boarder's horses, and a mini pony named Meatball.

 

She enjoys hiking, taking her dogs swimming, and adventuring with family and friends in her free time.

Taylor Swisstack

Lead Veterinary Technician

Taylor completed her veterinary technician certification through AAEVT and is now Coastal Elite’s head tech. She has volunteered at HorseSense Therapeutic Riding Center for many years and continues to help when she can.

 

In her free time, Taylor enjoys fishing with her family and playing fetch with her cat, Grey Squirrel.

Brody

Head of Security & Emotional Support Manager

Brody, adopted by Dr. Tiffany in 2016, frequents the office to boost team morale, assist in client relations, and perform security surveillance.
